Individual, Youth, Adolescent, Parent and Family Counsellor

Hello, my name is Malvika, and I am proud to be a part of the team here at Kylie Lepri Counselling & Psychotherapy.  As a dedicated counsellor, my goal is to provide support and guidance to individuals, youth, parents, and families who are facing emotional struggles and seeking effective ways to navigate challenging situations including thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

To learn more about me and my approach please watch the video or continue reading below. If you would like a FREE 15 min phone consultation to see how I can assist you, please call 0404 032 636 or book your free phone call online here.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients, each with their own unique challenges. From anxiety and depression to trauma, stress, self-esteem issues, LGBTQ+ concerns, cultural diversities, addiction, and family issues, I have been able to offer compassionate and tailored counselling to address their specific needs.

I also have extensive experience in providing customized counselling for parents, utilizing a range of parenting programs such as Triple P, Staying Connected With Your Teen, and Strengthening Families. I have worked extensively with families facing neurodivergence, school refusal, teen social and image-related concerns, as well as guiding parents through the challenges of divorce or separation. Together, we adapt these programs to meet the specific needs of each family, ensuring a personalized and effective counselling experience.

Additionally, I have had the opportunity to work closely with incredible neurodivergent adolescents and young individuals who have ADHD/ADD, are on the Autism spectrum, experience Dyslexia/Dyspraxia, or struggle with OCD. Adolescence is a time of immense change and self-discovery, and I am here to provide support to make this journey a lot more comfortable for you.

I also have additional experience in working with women and families impacted by family violence. Moreover, I have received specialized training as a DBT therapist, enabling me to work alongside individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder and those who may experience suicidal ideation.

What inspired me to become a Counsellor?

My interest in the field of counselling was sparked at a young age, as I embarked on my own mental health journey. Through the professional support I received and my personal resilience, I discovered a profound passion for counselling and helping others navigate their own challenges.

This early inspiration led me to pursue a degree in psychology at university, where I delved deeper into understanding the complexities of the human mind. Motivated by my desire to make a meaningful impact, I then pursued further studies in counselling, honing my skills and knowledge in this specialised field.

Recognizing the importance of continuous learning and professional development, I have completed additional counselling trainings to enhance my ability to support individuals, families, and young people. With a particular focus on trauma and neuro-divergence, I have equipped myself with the necessary tools and expertise to address complex and sensitive issues.

The combination of personal experience, academic studies, and ongoing training has shaped me into the counsellor I am today. It has instilled in me a deep sense of empathy, compassion, and a commitment to helping others find healing and resilience in the face of adversity.

My Approach

In our initial session, my main focus will be on creating a comfortable and safe space where you and/or your family can feel at ease. I will ask about your background, history, and what led you to seek counselling. This will provide an opportunity for you to share your current struggles, concerns, relationships, and hopes, all at your own pace. Your well-being and feeling supported throughout the process are really important to me.

During this initial session, you will also have the opportunity to ask any questions and get to know my approach, helping you determine if I am the right therapist for you and/or your family.

If you are an individual, a young person, a parent, or a family seeking support, please don’t hesitate to reach out and schedule an appointment. It would be an honor for me to accompany you on your journey towards healing and self-discovery. I am here to provide support every step of the way. Together, we can navigate life’s challenges and cultivate positive change in your life.

I offer a range of appointments during business hours and after hours.  I am available on Monday and Fridays at the Bella Vista office or online via zoom.
