Roslyn Romanous

Individual, Parent, Relationship and Family Counsellor

Hello, my name is Roslyn, and I am proud to be a part of the team here at Kylie Lepri Counselling & Psychotherapy. With over 20 years of experience, including significant work with Relationships Australia, I am dedicated to supporting individuals, parents, teens, and families as they navigate life’s challenges. My mission is to provide guidance and effective strategies to help you manage overwhelming emotions and behaviors. I have a strong focus on relationship counselling and family therapy, helping clients improve their connections and foster healthier interactions.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with diverse clients facing a variety of difficulties, including relationship breakdowns, childhood and adult trauma, workplace challenges, low self-worth, depression, anxiety, and more. I tailor my approach to meet each person’s unique needs, fostering an environment where clients can gain insights and a deeper understanding of their life experiences. Together, we can explore your aspirations and create pathways to achieve them.

My experience includes working on specialist teams for families in high conflict, where I’ve helped parents and teens reconnect and resolve their issues, paving the way for healthier relationships. I have also collaborated extensively with Aboriginal services and foster-care agencies, addressing the emotional and practical challenges that arise in these contexts. My background in running parenting programs and providing trauma and relationship counselling equips me to support families in navigating difficult transitions and building stronger connections.

What inspired me to become a Counsellor?

Many years ago, I began my work in community services, where I supported youth, adults, and families facing challenges such as homelessness, domestic violence, and family breakdowns. Witnessing the profound impact of relationships on individuals and families ignited my passion for understanding connection and fostering healthy relationships. This journey inspired me to pursue formal qualifications in individual, couple, and family relationship counselling, along with ongoing studies in trauma processing and mental health.

For me, counselling is about creating a safe and understanding space where people feel supported in facing their struggles, understanding themselves, and finding their own path forward. I truly believe that “we heal relationships with relationships,” and it is an honor to walk alongside clients as they explore new ways to connect, heal, and grow.

My Approach

In our initial session, my primary focus is to create a comfortable and safe environment where you and/or your family can feel at ease. I’ll invite you to share your background, history, and the reasons that brought you to seek counselling. This will give you the opportunity to discuss your current struggles, concerns, relationships, and hopes at your own pace, which is essential for your well-being.

You’ll also have the chance to ask any questions and learn more about my approach, helping you determine if I am the right therapist for you and/or your family. Whether you are an individual, a parent, a couple, or a family seeking support, I encourage you to reach out and schedule an appointment. It would be an honor to accompany you on your journey toward healing and self-discovery.

I offer a range of appointment options during business hours and after hours. You can find availability on alternate Fridays and Saturdays at the Bella Vista office or online via Zoom.

If you’d like to explore how I can assist you, please feel free to reach out for a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation. You can call me at 0404 032 636 or book your free phone call online here.

I look forward to the possibility of working with you and seeing you soon.
